Karen is an artist with a degree in fine arts and over 20 years of experience creating and exhibiting artwork in the NYC area. Currently based in Brooklyn, she grew up with the forests and oceans of New England as her backdrop, and developed a deep love of nature and all things flora and fauna. As a tattoo artist, her designs are primarily inspired by this love of nature, as well as by folk art, vintage illustrations, textiles and ancient design motifs. Her passion for tattooing is rooted in her belief in its strong healing and empowering abilities;, that adorning the body with something beautiful is a powerful and sacred ritual that can strengthen and protect. Focusing mainly on ornamental, illustrative and traditional styles and working primarily in black and gray, she loves to create bold geometric patterns and ornate designs incorporating playful floral elements that compliment the natural shapes and curves of the body. She is happy to collaborate with her clients to create a custom piece that reflects their own personality and brings their vision to life.
